Investigators probing the financial affairs of the former President of Argentina, Carlos Menem, yesterday revealed that the inquiry has led them to Majorca. Menem, being held in jail while he faces charges of illegal arms sales in Ecuador and Croatia, is suspected, along with his former personal secretary, of owning an undeclared company in Majorca. The company apparently has just over 24 million dollars on its books and Federal Judge Jorge Uros, who is leading the investigation, is interested in establishing whether or not the company is owned by Menem, who visited Majorca last year, and Ramon Hernandez, according to a report in yesterday's La Nacion newspaper.
