30% of shops say sales worse than ever

Only 24 per cent of shop keepers in Palma believe that takings during the summer sales were up on last year. 30 per cent in Palma say that ths sales were much worse than last year while in the outlying districts, 68 per cent believe that the summer sales have been negative. In Palma there is growing concern about the high number of shops being put up for lease in calle Bonaire, one of the capital's most popular streets.
