After the sadness of last Saturday's remembrance service for those killed in the United States last week (at which soprano Katy Mara Gannon sang the American national anthem), and further prayers for the victims during Sunday's harvest festival service, the Reverend Clive Cooper of the Anglican Church in Puerto Pollensa was more than pleased to introduce a lighter note to proceedings. Charles and Ann Spiller, who have visited the area on holiday several times, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary earlier this year but never got round to getting their 50 years of marriage blessed at their home church. Would it be possible to have it done here? they tentatively asked their holiday rep.
