Campaign to boost Balearic exports

The Majorcan and Ibizan chambers of commerce are strengthening their overseas promotional campaign in a bid to boost exports. The chambers of commerce believe that one way to help cushion the blow of the international crisis will be to increase Balearic exports. Commercial bosses also believe that last week's decisions in the United States and parts of Europe to reduce interest rates will help to bolster consumer confidence and encourage more personal financing. The Balearics' key commercial export markets are shoes and leather goods while in the professional sector, Balearic tourism know-how is in huge demand by countries looking to expand their tourist industries.
