A judge in Palma has embargoed possessions valued at 500 million pesetas belonging to members of a gipsy clan headed by El Seco, allegedly involved in drug trafficking. The court order covers a block close to the new court house in Sa Gerreria, a chalet in Guadix (Granada), other chalets and flats in Palma, and the court has also ordered six or seven current accounts in several local banks to be frozen. The investigation is continuing, as it is believed that members of the clan have more property on the island. Various members of the clan have been arrested on numerous occasions for drug-related offences, and one is currently serving a jail sentence in Palma.
