The Balearic air sea rescue service is collaborating in the search for an air taxi carrying seven American engineers and two crew members, which went missing between Barcelona and Algeria. The plane lost contact with the control tower of Valencia airport at 11.41am yesterday morning. The plane, which belongs to the Flight Line company, was due to arrive in Algeria in the early hours of yesterday afternoon. The identity of the passengers have not been revealed. Emergency service sources said that the search commenced as soon as contact was lost and was interrupted at nightfall.
