The Balearic Port Authority officially reported yesterday that improvement work along the Paseo Maritimo in Palma, from the pleasure boat moorings opposite the Auditorium to the Club de Mar yacht club are completed. 180 million pesetas has been spent in improving the stretch of promenade and installing better facilities for yachts moored along the Paseo. New electricity supply boxes have been fitted, extra telephone lines so boats can connect to land lines along with a network of fibre optic cables connecting all the close circuit video cameras in the area to tighten security. 80 new street lights, 30 new benches and 30 extra waste bins have also been installed long the promenade as well as the cycle lane being resurfaced and slightly altered creating a bit more space for pedestrians, the majority of which sadly fail to respect the cycle lane and frequently wander in to the paths of cyclists.
One phase of Palma improvement work is finally completed
