Market stalls were being set up in the Parc de la Mar beneath the Cathedral yesterday, as the Christmas market prepares to open. In previous years, the market has been installed in the Plaza España, which is currently one giant building site. The Parc de la Mar market is the one which sells gifts and souvenirs. The market which sells figures for Nativity Scenes and Christmas decorations will be at its usual site in the Plaza Mayor. Shop keepers in the square have complained about the market, claiming that the stalls hide their premises from customers, charges denied by the stall holders. The markets will be open until January 5.
