Over the past two days many of us would have consumed the same amount of calories we consume over the period of a whole week, and we will be doing it all again this weekend. In an official statement issued by the health department, nutritionists are advising people to eat more proteins and less carbohydrates and fat. The annual warnings about taking it easy with the alcohol, moderate consumption is best, have been repeated and this year doctors are advising people against ending meals with champagne or cava as the gas can cause problems with digestion. Once the festivities are over, consumers are advised to return to a normal diet and try a spell without consuming any alcohol.
