At least two people were killed when a commuter train slammed into a car that had gone off a bridge and crashed onto the tracks in the south of Madrid on Saturday, police said. We still don't know if there are two or three dead. Emergency teams are working at the scene and we are waiting for a crane to be able to get the car out (from under the train) to see how many people there may have been inside, a spokesman for Madrid Municipal Police told Reuters yesterday. He did not know if any passengers aboard the train were injured. A full investigation is expected to launched into the incident by police and Spanish transport officials to establish the exact causes of the accident. Initial reports from the scene said that a third person may have also died but last night there was still no official confirmation. The accident shocked Madrid as it prepared for the traditional parade of the Three King's.
