Palma could see the introduction of regular helicopter links to the mainland. Air Catalunya are studying the project to link a number of Spanish and European cities with regular helicopter services. Cities targeted for the scheduled flights, with operations based at Girona airport near the Spanish border with France, also include Mahon, Barcelona, Valencia, Toulouse, Bilbao and Brussels.
