The euro hot line handled over 200 calls last week. The free phone information service operated by the Centre Balears Europa responded to the 200-plus calls from across the Balearics between January 7 and 11 and the free phone service will remain in operation until the end of February. The biggest concern of consumers is about the price rises and the difference in prices between the euro and peseta. The centre has also been dealing with queries about changing money at the bank. Over half of the calls have been made from Palma.
