Majorca is not only a popular haunt for Hollywood stars during the summer, the island is also a magnet for scores of members of the world's paparazzi, some less scrupulous than others. The island is no longer a quaint little Mediterranean safe haven for stars longing for privacy but a summer battle-ground of cat and mouse and some of the reports going back to Hollywood have been far from favourable over the past few years. Last summer Gwyneth Paltrow's visit was shrouded in controversy as she was accosted by snappers in the Port of Soller, there was a stand-off, some pushing and shoving and a photographer's motorbike nearly ended up in the drink. It appears that Paltrow is paranoid about how she looks, she was quoted as saying this week that she hates showing off her body in films. The actress spends a week at the gym before taking her clothes off for the cameras and last summer she tried to persuade the police to set up an exclusion zone around her holiday villa on Majorca.
