An arsenal of 3.500 fire crackers or bangers were seized by the Local Police in Cuitadella during the recent carnivals over the weekend. Police said that the bulk of the small incendiary devices were found in the possession of kids - none of whom were fined, but parents were informed. While the sale of fire crackers is not prohibited, they are not allowed to be let off in the old part of the town. Ciutadella council also launched a major crack down on mopeds yesterday and warned owners that they will face severe fines for any infractions.
