Majorca's two main reservoirs, Gorg Blau and Cúber, were yesterday 87 per cent full, holding twice as much water as this time last year. Sources for the water board EMAYA said that the two reservoirs, which have benefited greatly from the Easter rain, are now holding 10.013 million cubic metres of water, while at the start of April last year, they were holding just 5.259 million cubic metres. The water level in Gorg Blau is just one metre 36 centimetres short of its maximum level holding 6.12 million cubic metres. While the water is slightly nearer the limit in Cuber where there is 3.893 million cubic metres of water. Majorca's reservoirs have not held so much water for over the past decade and EMAYA is still trying not to use water from the reservoirs in order to make sure there is enough water this summer to avoid another drought.
