FELANITX: The hoteliers association of Portocolom have expressed their indignation at the poor image of the popular resort, which is in the municipality of Felanitx. They claim that the water course which opens into Cala Marçal has not been cleaned, and leads to flooding whenever it rains heavily. The association's chairman, Joan Esteve, has been complaining about this since 1995, and although promises have been made, nothing has been done. However little it rains, the streets and the beach are flooded, he said yesterday. Other problems include smells from the sewers, poor street lighting and neglected public green zones. The recent bad weather has only emphasised the problems.
