Fifty-year-old cyclist Susan Micheal was last night in a coma after being hit by a car along the Alcudia road yesterday. The driver of the vehicle, a German woman, was seriously injured. The tragic accident happened at 11.30 at the Misanyes crossroads, just past Sa Pobla when a lorry carrying iron plates apparently lost control and shed its load. According to police sources, the lorry collided with the vehicle which in turn apparently hit the cyclist, leaving the victim seriously injured on the road. Within minutes, the Guardia Civil, ambulances and fire fighters were at the scene to take care of the injured and also control the traffic. It appears that Susan Micheal suffered severe head injuries, according to medical sources she was run over by two of the vehicle's wheels. The 50-year-old cyclist was rushed to Son Dureta hospital in Palma, in a coma. The driver of the car also suffered serious injuries along with her passenger and were both taken to hospital.
