Scores of residents in Cala Viñas are being bothered by a strange noise every night, forcing many to either sleep with cotton wool in their ears of take sleeping tablets. Mr and Mrs Billton, who have lived in the Regal block of apartments for some 20 years, said yesterday that the bleeping noise which sounds rather like a sonar radar bleep, has been bothering and annoying residents now for at least the past week and the noise can only be heard at night. All the residents have consulted the president of the block and neighbours, but while every body hears the bleep every night, no body can figure out what it is or where the mystery sound is coming from. Last night it started at 9pm, but stopped after say five minutes, we thought it had finished for the night and could get to sleep, but it started again at 11pm and continued throughout the night, Mrs Billton said yesterday. The Bulletin yesterday contacted Calvia Councillor Jaqueline Moss who said she will try and solve the mystery.
