Self confessed Majorca-addict the King of Clubs, Peter Stringfellow, has finally got round to buying a house on the island. A couple of summers ago it appeared that Stringfellow's long standing love affair with Majorca was coming to and end, when he was considering transferring his luxury Sunseeker yacht to Ibiza, however the island's pull was just too much. Last summer Stringfellow told the Bulletin that he was about to embark on expanding his business empire and earlier this year he finally opened a Stringfellow club in Paris and intends to continue branching out with even a cosmetics range rumoured. Majorca has always been his haven and where he relaxes and with growing international commercial interests, he has decided to move out of his yacht and into a “playboy palace” as his new house was described by a local real estate agent yesterday. The one million pound-plus luxury villa with spectacular views is not too far away from his yacht and his favourite playground of Portals. The design of the newly-built property, which is on an exclusive estate, is “modern contemporary,” boasts four lavish bedrooms and the interior is open plan. Over the years Stringfellow has become a big supporter of local charities on the island, especially Robert Winsor's celebrity golf tournaments, the second of which is being played at Bendinat next week and again Stringfellow will be one of the sponsors. Winsor and Stringfellow have known each other for years and regularly used to be mistaken for each other. The King of Clubs has also done his fair share of helping to promote the island in the United Kingdom. He has been featured in all of the BBC's Passport for the Sun series, which are currently deciding whether or not to return this summer to shoot a fourth series about ex-pat life in Majorca, although this year the producers may decide to combine Majorca and Ibiza which over the past few years has become extremely fashionable with the British rich and famous and the international jet set again. Stringfellow has closed the deal of his luxury palace just in time for the start of the summer season and the arrival of the first wave of the celebrities. The first big gathering is going to be at a wedding party thrown by supermodel Claudia Schiffer and her film producer fiance Matthew Vaughn within the next few days for her friends in Majorca, the couple, will tie the knot in England two weeks time.
