The Popular Party (PP) of Calvia has filed charges against Mayor of Calvia Margarita Nájera and functionary Jorge Herrero in the Palma court, alleging perversion of the course of justice, coercion and fraud with abuse of authority. Carlos Delgado, the spokesman of the PP group on the council, and jurist Luis Rodriguez de Ramos announced at a press conference that the party was joining the case brought against the Mayor by the company HPT Install. According to Delgado, the origin of the case is judicial action started against the council by the administrator of HPT Install, Juan Barrachina, which was later withdrawn in exchange for benefits including concessions for plots in Santa Ponsa and the construction of a soccer pitch in Son Ferrer. The spokesman claimed that differences later arose between the company and the council and so Install went to court again, and it is this action which the PP has now joined. Rodriguez de Ramos said that the PP had not taken the initiative but had joined in the accusation.
