The USO union has called on immigrants to stage a protest tomorrow against the law on foreigners, to express their opposition to the proposed changes in the law. The union said that the changes were reactionary, xenophobic and of fascist ideology. At the same time, the committee for social globalisation and democracy yesterday presented a manifesto in which it called for the regulation of the situation of immigrants through work contracts, the repeal of the law on foreigners and the cancellation of expulsion orders. A spokesman said that there are between 15'000 and 20'000 persons in the Balearics whose papers are not in order.
