Oasis brought the Isladencanta Festival to a close in Magalluf on Sunday, leaving some of their fans disappointed. Some sources claim that as many as 15.000 people headed to the concert while 8.000 would be a more realistic figure and a number the organisers said they would have been happy with on each of the three days. Oasis' warm up band Mercury Rev left a lot to be desired, but the stage was of the like never seen in Majorca before and the sound superb. The predominantly British crowd took a while to get into the Oasis concert, many spent the gig throwing objects at Liam Gallagher, watched by All Saints girlfriend Nicole Appleby, forcing him to retreat to the back of the stage at times and off the stage for a full half hour while Noel took over the vocals. They played a number of tracks from their new album Heathen Chemistry, some of their hits and The Who's My Generation.
