Hotel bookings in Majorca last month were ten per cent down on July last year and the forecast occupancy level for August is 79.36 per cent. The Majorcan Hotel Federation said yesterday that last month, the biggest drop was in one star hotel bookings which fell by 12 per cent, three star bookings was down 11.49 per cent and demand for four star hotel rooms was 7.53 per cent off July last year. Areas worst hit last month were Soller, where occupancy was down 36 per cent, Cala de Mallorca, down 20.15 per cent and the Playa de Palma, where bookings were 19.9 per cent lower than July last year.
