Reial Mallorca striker Albert Luque yesterday reiterated his desire to play for a “bigger team” as a proposed transfer to Deportivo de La Coruña moved ever closer. Luque and his father Rafael, also his agent, met with club president Mateu Alemany yesterday in a bid to finalise some personal details of the transfer. “I've told Alemany I want to make the jump up to a bigger team,” said Luque after the meeting. “There are two teams very interested in signing me, but Alemany told me that Depor are closest and that everything could be tied-up in 24 or 48 hours.” The 24 year-old again ruled out returning to Son Moix on loan for a season if the transfer is eventually finalised, something in which both Mallorca and Depor were interested. “I have always said I feel very good here, and if I go to another team it must be to improve in all senses; for that reason I don't want to play on loan next season.” Luque added that he may not travel with the rest of the Mallorca squad that leaves this morning to play friendly matches against Albacete and Murcia.
