Manuel Camara, the United Left senator for the Balearics, plans to ask several questions in the Senate regarding the central government's failure to include the gas pipe link in its budget, security, the tourist crisis and air fairs and flights. He will ask the government what it plans to do to tackle the tourism crisis and the drop in visitors. He will also ask why the gas pipe link with the Peninsula, which the local government sees as the cheapest and best option to the islands' energy problems, has not been included in the energy plan. The Balearics is the only region not to be included in the plan. As to security, Camara wants to know the number of police and where they are based and how many police officers are employed in escorting ministers and other officials in the Balearics. Questions will also be raised about prison conditions.
