Next year the Balearic ministry of tourism will manage a budget of 58.33 million euros, nearly 15 per cent more than this year's budget, once tourist tax revenue, some 30 million euros, has been included. The final budget was presented yesterday by the Balearic finance minister and the minister for tourism, Celesti Alomar. Alomar said one of the main aims for next year is to introduce more sustainable tourism management models. But he said that he intends to confront “the new situation of the market,” a drop in demand for package holidays but an increase in independent travel.
