Gale force winds reaching 90 kilometres per hour will continue to batter the Balearics today, accompanied by torrential rain. For those who thought yesterday's weather was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet! Up to 50 litres per square metre of rain were recorded in various parts of Majorca yesterday, 21 litres per square metre fell in Porto Pollensa. Winds reached 85 kmph in Capdepera and 73 kmph in Palma. The region remains on storm alert today and the Met office has warned of strong southerly winds and a drop in temperatures today.
