BALEARIC hospital staff have been briefed on what measures to take when dealing with a case of the so-called killer pneumonia virus which has decimated parts of Asia and has spread across Europe. The Balearic Ministry for Health said yesterday that there had been no case of the virus in the Balearics but underlined the fact that a suspected case had been discovered on the mainland. “We are taking all the necessary precautions,” a spokesperson said yesterday.
The World Health Organisation is leading a full investigation into the virus at the moment.
