K Wetlands clean-up

SA POBLA
The Hunting Association in Sa Pobla has recently been able to organise marsh cane clearance within the natural wetlands park of S'Albufera thanks to funding provided by the Council of Majorca. The stripping work, which had to be carried out by machine was focussed on areas where the cane had become so dense that it was preventing the growth of other flora and fauna.

K Government investment
CALA RAJADA & CALA BONA
Minister for Public Works in the Balearic regional government, Mabel Cabrer has confirmed that buildings in the port areas of Cala Bona and Cala Rajada are to undergo reform and enlargement. The move comes as part of a region-wide ports upgrade programme.

In Cala Bona and Cala Rajada alone, the regional government is to invest more than 490'000 euros. In the former, a canteen and tourist information office are to be built in a new block on one of the port wharfs. The present port building, currently run down, is to be enlarged and refurbished to accommodate official port office, a warehouse, and a social centre for fishermen. Works are estimated as needing five months to complete.

In Cala Rajada, the old port warehouse is to be submitted to a 7-month reform programme with the intention of converting it to a multi-purpose building for all port users.
