IRISH musician, Van Morrison, is giving a concert at the Auditorium in Palma on 22 and 23 December at 9pm. The event is the first in a series of musical occasions being launched by the record organisation Xocolat Centre to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Morrison will be presenting the songs on his latest disc, What's wrong with this picture?, his first album for the Blue Note Record label. The performer is accustomed to visiting Majorca where he has given concerts on five previous occasions, the last two years ago at the Bullring. Known as The Lion of Belfast, Morrison played in Majorca for the first time in Palma's Auditorium in 1997, an event which was repeated in 1998 and 1999. He was also one of the artists invited to contribute to the Mediterranean Nights musical agenda at the Costa Nord cultural centre in Valldemossa in 2001. His most celebrated albums of the last decade include Enlightenment (1990); The Philosopher's Stone (1998); Back on Top (1999); and Down the Road (2002). Now he is presenting his latest.
