Engineers complete Palma industrial oil spill clean up

NEWS DESK THE contamination alert issued after six cubic metres of industrial fuel and oil leaked in to Palma's Sa Riera river on Thursday was stood down yesterday.

Government and Port Authority environmental engineers managed to contain the spill within hours of the leak being reported and by midday yesterday had removed all of the fuel from the water way which runs along the Paseo Mallorca and out into the sea near the Club Nautico.
