The National Police crime squad, after a long investigation, have arrested a Spanish woman and her husband in connection with an alleged 880'000 dollar yacht scam.
The couple were acting as yacht chandlers for an Italian motor boat company and sold one of the yachts to a Japanese client, only to tell the Italian yacht builders that they had not been paid.
However, a full investigation was launched and police ascertained that the couple had in fact been paid by the Japanese owner.
The 46-year-old Briton is being held on remand in Palma prison. His wife has been released.
