Calvia.—Jackie Codd of Age Concern was named Calvia European Citizen of the year last night.
In joint second place was Micky Loly from Cosi Patchwork, for all of her hard work and dedication with the “Heart Pillow project,” to ease the wound pressure for ladies with post operative breast surgery discomfort. Also the Rotary Club of Calvia were runners up for all the excellent community and charity work.

Jackie Codd, in a recent Bulletin interview, underlined the hardships which are faced by many elderly people on the island as a result of the recession.

Jackie has lived on the island for many years and before joining Age Concern she worked for the Bulletin.
The plaques will be presented on May 13.
