Palma.—Never have there been so many members of the international security services concentrated in such a small piece of Majorca in history.
Yesterday, all 74 five-a-side football teams of police, firemen and women, customs and border control agents from a total of 25 countries, including as far away as Brazil, were gathered in Can Pastilla ahead of the start of the Mallorca International Football Tournament which kicks off this morning and ends with the final on Sunday evening at 6.30pm.

Representing the UK, as the Bulletin reported yesterday, is the IPA New Scotland yard team which includes two former professional football players, so they are definitely going to be one of the teams to watch. For many of the Yard, it will be their final break overseas before the Olympics as all leave has been banned during the games and some members have been on specialist training courses for the games.

But all will be on duty throughout the global sporting event.
Their only complaint was about the heat which is going to last all weekend. Last night, was the official inauguration ceremony which was attended by local police and military chiefs as well as politicians and dignitaries.

Access to all the matches in front of the Aquarium is free and there is going to be a lot of football played this weekend.
