Palma.—The new look Magalluf is going to be taking form from next month when Sol Meliá International opens the first phase of its multi-million euro Calvia Beach Resort complex in the resort.

The global Majorcan hotel chain said yesterday that is extremely “proud” to be able to announce that the first two hotels will be opening in June.
Meliá International considers that Magalluf still posses massive potential to be one of Europe's top holiday destinations but needs to be remodeled and reformed and the Majorcan hotel chain has taken the first few steps towards doing just that.

Over the past few years the resort has slipped into a decline which has had a negative effect on the local tourist trade, but Meliá is convinced that its huge financial injection and the new resorts complex will revive Magalluf's fortunes significantly.

The first two hotels to open next month are going to be the Royal Beach which is going to have Europe's first artificial wave centre in its special Wave House as well as a wide range of entertainment and other water activities available to guests.

The second hotel is the Hotel Beach House by Sol which will boast its very own NIkki Beach club which will offer a fusion of music, interior design, food and entertainment.

When Sol Meliá International unveiled the project last Autumn the Balearic government immediately declared it a priority project hence why the hotel chain has been able to get the first two, of what will be a four hotel complex, open so quickly. Eventually, the resort will also incorporate the hotels Sol Antillas and Sol Barbados.

Not only does Meliá intend to change the resort's image and revive the local tourist industry it is also going to be creating much needed new jobs in area.

Apart from the Meliá project, another multi-million euro four hotel complex is due to be built on the waste ground near Pirates.
Apart from the hotels, the complex will also include a large commercial centre.
