The Balearic Local Police Commission has chosen a new uniform for its officers in order to have the same dress across all the municipalities of the Islands, Simon Gornes, Public Administration Minister said yesterday.
The most important feature of the new uniform, said Gornes is that it will be entirely navy blue. There will be no confusion over which branch of the police the officers are representing when the uniform is introduced, albeit it will take four years for officers in all municipalities to be wearing it, he said. Gornes claimed there will be no cost to local councils as a Balearic government scheme will accommodate buying the material at rock bottom prices.
