Costa d'en Blanes.—An exhibition of sculptures by Majorcan artists is on show at the St. Regis Mardavall hotel in Costa d'en Blanes. Spread around the entrance lobby and gardens of the hotel, the exhibits are a top notch collection of craftsmanship by eleven local artists.

Speaking about the display entitled Esculturers de Mallorca yesterday, the hotel's director Christian Hollweck described the contributions from the sculptors as being of a “unique” quality. “Everyone is aware of Majorca as a holiday destination but it is also a haven of modern and contemporary art and our aim is to promote the flourishing talent on the island,” said Hollweck. The exhibition will be on show throughout the summer at the hotel located in Passeig Calvia in Costa d'en Blanes.

The sculptors exhibiting their work at the St. Regis Mardavall hotel, and with already-established reputations of their own are Jaume Mir, Toni Sans Nerudin, Amegra, Miquela Vidal, Alfred Lichter, Xavier Llull, Maria Isabel Ballester, Amelia Garcia, Jose Maria Alaminos, Harald Gatz and Josep María Sirvent.

Some of the works of art on show have been recently crafted whilst others form part of collections which have already been exhibited elsewhere.
The choice of the sculptures for exhibition has been undertaken through a joint venture promotion between Masters Art Galleries and Art Event. Regina Krapp from Art Event said that selling their work was an important stimulus for the artists to remain creative.
