People living in the Balearic Islands will be spending an average of between 700 and 900 euros on travel this summer, the regional travel agency association “Aviba” claimed yesterday. Aviba said that guaranteed tourist package deals including accommodation and transport are the most in demand, having become 12 percent more popular compared to this time last year. Reportedly 40 percent of clients are wanting to travel to Minorca for the San Juan fiestas. Aviba President Sylvia Riera said that the package deals are the most profitable for the association due to the increase in airport taxes. Destinations chosen by holiday-makers are chiefly to other places in Europe.
