Deya.—The emblematic luxury hotel property in Deya has announced a change in General Manager.
At at cocktail party this week, Mr. Ulisses Marreiros was welcomed and introduced to guests and local residents.  Ulisses Marreiros is currently General Manager at another ‘grande dame' property, the Reid's Palace in Madeira which also belongs to Orient-Express hotels.  Before becoming a General Manager, Mr. Marreiros worked in Sales as Director of sales and marketing at the Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa on Portugal's Algarve Coast and prior to that he was part of the opening sales team for the One&Only Reethi Rah resort in the Maldives, as Sales Manager.  Algarve
Ulisses began his career in hospitality at another Orient-Express property at the time, Hotel Quinta do Lago in the Algarve, with experience in banqueting, reservations and reception, working his way up to International Marketing & Sales Manager.

Before he made several internships on the Food & Beverage area, and also worked as traffic agent in TAP Air Portugal.  Ulisses has a degree in Hotel Management from the Algarve University and a post graduation from+ the INDESP institute, also in Hotel Management, besides other courses related to tourism, marketing and finance.

Ulisses has attended some PDP's in strategic hotel management in Cornell University, as well as a General Managers programme taken at the same university.

His tenure at La Residencia will commence in January 2013.
