Civil Defence warns there'll be rain and wind across the Balearic Islands until the weekend

The department for Civil Defence and Emergencies for the Interior warned yesterday of rain and wind which will affect both the mainland and the Balearics until the end of the week and in some areas over the weekend as well, after having received a report from the National Weather Agency (AEMET).

Rainfall will be especially intense and persistent in the northeast and by Sunday could be equally strong in other parts of the Mediterranean. The bad weather will ease off from Sunday afternoon. The department urged people to take extra care and not park in flood channels or at the edge of rivers so as not to be caught by a sudden surge of water.
