There is the Nit del Born (night of the Born) and a special festive workshop for young children.
The City Council's Christmas budget is actually 10'000 euros more than last year and, according to the Councillor for Social Welfare, Sandra Fernandez, “in times of hardship, people deserve some moments of fun and families and children should be allowed to enjoy the festivities.” The idea of the Nit de Born is to transform the heart of the city into a vibrant Christmas commercial centre and to attract people into the city centre, primarily Jaime III, the Born and Calle Union, there will be a host of live acts to lift people's spirits and, as far as the retailers are concerned, their consumer confidence.

And, as always, there will be the traditional Christmas markets in Plaza Mayor, along the Ramblas and Via Roma and in Plaza de la Porta Pintada.
