A member of the Guardia Civil was arrested by his colleagues in the early hours of yesterday morning after being reported for having apparently hit his wife over the weekend.
Apparently, this was not the first time the wife had been victim to such an attack and police spent until 4am yesterday searching for the alleged suspect who was branded a serious risk because he may well have been armed.
He was eventually located and held in Marratxi and appeared before a preliminary hearing yesterday afternoon during which it was revealed that he had apparently attacked his wife before. The Guardia Civil has announced that it will be carrying out its own internal inquiry.
