GESA Endesa hopes to comply with the quality law UNE-EN-ISO 14001 before the end of the year thanks to the implementation of their System of Environmental Management which consists of environmental training courses for their employees and the development of the appropriate technical documentation. More than 380 people took part in the courses run by the energy company during the third quarter of 2005. The purpose of these courses was to raise the environmental awareness of their employees about the activities of Gesa which could affect the environment, according to sources at the company. Also, documentation of this system has been prepared which defines the technical criteria and environmental operations which comply with the quality law. The company will, in the next few months, introduce controls to evaluate the level of success of the System within the company and hopes to achieve the appropriate level of quality in 2006 to comply with the law, reinforcing their environmental promise and sustainable development.
