STAFF REPORTER A 40-year-old woman was taken in a serious condition to Can Misses hospital on Ibiza yesterday morning after suffering from smoke inhalation and burns during a blaze at her home in Santa Eularia.

The fire broke out just after 2.30am at a property in Calle Iglesia in the municipality of Vila des Riu. Fire officers reported the blaze appears to have begun in the living room and spread to the bedroom of the victim. Emergency services - police, fire officers and paramedics - attended the scene from where the victim was taken to hospital.
