ONE person was killed, one seriously injured, two slightly and two rescued in a spate of incidents in Majorca yesterday.
The most tragic happened at mid-day along the old Inca to Sineu road where a German cyclist, said to have been in his mid-50*s, was killed in an accident. In two other separate incidents, two Germans had to be rescued by the Guardia Civil mountain search and rescue service.

The first injured hiker was airlifted to safety from the area of Son Servera after falling and hitting his head while walking in Na Penya. The second incident involved a German woman who was hiking in the Cala Estreta area of Arta.

She too suffered a fall and twisted her ankle.
She was airlifted to Manacor Hospital.
The fourth incident happened outdide the Teatre Principal in Palma where a woman was knocked down and hurt by a number three bus. Apparently she was not using a pedestrian crossing and the bus driver, despite sounding his horn, was unable to stop in time.

Later, six vehicles were invioled in a multiple accident on the Via Centura. Only one person was injured but tailbacks lasted for two hours.
