THE Balearic Centre for the Coordination of Drug Dependency has launched a web page, accessible through the Balearic Ministry of Health's website, www.portalsalud.caib.es. This offers information and advice on prevention and treatment to current and potential drugtakers, parents and professionals.
The Balearic coordinator for drug dependency, Bartomeu Jaume, yesterday held a press conference to explain the contents of the new web page and to announce some other initiatives, aimed especially at young people, for the prevention of the comsumption of toxic substances. Advice can also be obtained via the telephone service Crida (902 075 727) which has received 2'000 calls since its inauguration in June. Most of the calls have been about the Balearic antitobacco law but 10 percent of the questions were about alcohol or illegal drugs.
