STAFF REPORTER POWER supply company Endesa signed an agreement yesterday with the Balearic government for the reform and conservation of the Majorcan country property of “Son Orlandis” situated in the municipality of Palma.

The project covering 100 hectares aims to protect the land's unique ecosystem and preserve it for scientific and educational use as well as leisure.
The lands, covered in wild olive trees, were first acquired by Endesa for the construction of a substation.
Last year the company launched a conservation programme for the area aiming to convert it into a top example of how natural territory could be profitably managed.

Other schemes for “Son Orlandis” include the improvement of its water supply and the introduction of renewable energy systems.
