THE technology park, included in the Majorca Recycling Programme, received 15'472 visitors during 2005 and some 49.5 percent of these were schoolchildren, according to figures presented yesterday at a press conference given by the President of the Council of Majorca, Maria Antonia Munar. The School recycling programme, which is aimed at pupils of infant and primary schools, was followed in 52 education centres in Majorca and 36 secondary education centres took part in the Improve the centre plan, which also forms part of this recycling programme. This program is promoted by the Council of Majorca, Tirme (the private company in charge of the management of the island's waste), and the Deixalles Foundation. Within this programme there are also activities aimed at companies, in which 1'979 people took part last year. Also, the recycling programme organised domestic recycling courses in which 2'421 people took part in 2005.
