Palma.—Palma was heaving yesterday as thousands of locals and holiday makers made the most of the glorious weather.
As the Bulletin reported, there has been a huge surge in last minute tourists from the United Kingdom, which has been snowed on for most of the past week and other parts of Northern Europe where the weather has not been much better.

What was shaping up to be a rather disappointing Easter only a few weeks ago with hoteliers, those who have bothered to open, reporting poor demand.
However, those who have opened, just under half of the hotels in Majorca, may have made the right gamble.
In the centre of Palma yesterday, the bar and restaurant terraces were packed and there were people enjoying the sun on the beaches.
The only problem now is that once Easter is over, there is a long trough until the Summer holiday season gets under way at the beginning of May.
But, if the dire weather continues to grip the UK and Northern Europe, many may not be able to wait until the summer and flee the cold for Majorca out of desperation.
