Palma.—The central government delegate to the Balearics, Teresa Palmer, yesterday officially welcomed 13 new national Police officers to the Balearics.

Of the 13, 11 will be stationed in Palma and two in Ibiza and they will be working with various departments of the force.
The new officers have arrived on the eve of the start of the tourism season and Palmer said that the officers will provide important extra help to the force during the busy summer season.

Palmer said that the Balearics is extremely proud of its reputation as a safe destination and she said it is thanks to the hard and dedicated work of the security forces that the Balearics can enjoy such an image.

What is more, Palmer said that the Balearics continues to be one of the most popular destinations for newly promoted officers in the National Police and the Guardia Civil.
